Prescott then two and one half years old was playing in the yard, he thought he would take a ride so climbed into the carriage and drove off alone.

We missed him and sent some men to find him, it was a wonder he was not killed.

Everybody was so kind to us and we made lots of friends.

We sailed in November 1869 went down to the Equator to look for whales, they took several and we saw them cut them in and boil them out in the big try pots.

We returned to Honolulu in March, 1870, first stopping at a port on Hawaii to get potatoes for the ship.
