We were glad to be in Honolulu once more after being five months on the Roman.

We hired a small cottage of four rooms near Punch Bowl on Fort st and lived here till November when your father arrived from the Arctic.

Our meals were sent from the Hotel by two Chinamen so that I had no care of house keeping.

We used to take pleasant walks and were often invited to drive.

I became acquainted with many of the old Missionary families, and heard Mrs Thurston one of the first Missionarys who went to the islands give a lecture on her life as it was in 1820. The excersises were in the Fort street church.
